Final Game Week 8

Another extension?

TLDR: Game Week 8, the final week of the season, will run from 2nd January 6pm IST to 8th January 11pm IST. Game Week 7 gets one more day.

Hi everyone,

Semis are (almost) complete and one player from each of the three ‘semifinal’ games will now qualify to play their Tier Finals.

Somewhat alarmingly, a total of 6 games from week 7 are yet to be scheduled (games 489, 525, 527,547, 589, 556) even after the extended runtime of 2 weeks (18th-31st December). To allow these players to find a time for their quiz, we’re extending the game week yet again, by a single day. Game Week 7 will now end on 11pm IST 1st January 2025, and I urge you to schedule your games before then, even if it means playing with only 2 players.

The scoresheets that have been submitted by 11pm 1st January will be used to set the daws for the final week. If a semifinal game fails to happen, the highest scoring player from one of the other tier semifinals will qualify for the final. There’s also one tier with two unscheduled games. If neither of those games happens, the lineup for the one completed semifinal game will simply be repeated for the tier finals.
