Last Week in Friendlies #5
A summary of quizzes published as friendlies in the last couple of days.

Here’s the menu, with 11 quizzes by 7 authors.

1. Mixed Bag #5, #6 and #7 by Huang Yi
Huang Yi is a man on a mission. The 4 friendlies last week have been followed by 3 more this week, and as someone who's been playing them I have to say, they're getting better and better!
Huang's personal setup doesn't allow him to read games, but he has gone out of his way to spectate his own games being played and I think that's why these sets are getting so good.
All of Huang's sets are made using the B612 Mimir Creator Template, which means all your excuses for not making a friendly yet are just that - excuses.
2. Hollywood #2, Lit Set #23, and a Simpsons Hemimir by Vivek Tejuja
Vivek has settled into a nice '3 per week' rhythm, with 2 themed sets and a Lit Set this week.
The Hollywood set was particularly fun for me, cos Vivek read himself and added so many clues on direct questions that we barely had any Xs at all.
The Simpsons set is a rare hyper-themed set coming from Vivek, focused on the pop culture references scattered all over the Simpsons. It's just a 4*4*2 Hemimir, but I suspect Vivek will probably make at least one more of these. No shortage of references in The Simpson.
The Lit Set is, well, a Lit Set. Exactly as reliably good as you've come to expect.
3. Metallurgy #2: 2metallurgy2materials by Gautham Mahadevan
Gautham released a sequel to last week's Metallurgy set, and I just finished playing a few minutes before writing this. The 4*4*2 set is exactly as accessible as the last one, meaning you're going to be surprised at how much you seem to know about materials and metallurgy.

4. SanSanSan by Sanveer Singh Puri, Sander van der Heyden and Sandipan
After more playtesting than the question sets of most quiz leagues I know, Sanveer Singh Puri, Sander van der Heyden and Sandipan (?) have finally released their set into the wild.
I'm told the three of them had been working on friendlies independently, then realized (midway through a Dhruv Mookerji set, no less) that they could just team up and release a set much fast.
The result is SanSanSan, a general 5*4*3 Mimir set made using the B612 Mimir template, and I can confirm that they are eager for feedback. Ping Sanveer to tell him how much you enjoyed the set!
5. Premiermir by AP
It is a Mimir Premiere, but it is also a Premiere Mimir. It is the Premiermir.
AP has prepared his debut friendly, and it is a friendly all about debuts!
I am a sucker for themed sets so I've really looked forward to this, especially cos he says a lot of the questions are designed to be workable. It's a 5*4*3 set, and AP is trying to read pretty much every game himself, so let him know if you have 4 people.

6. The Q-Set by Zubaer
Another sequel!
In his own words:
Q was the natural follow-up to the Z quiz. It's a less-used letter, looks weird, sounds weird, and gives birth to some very interesting words and phrases. It will get you 10 points in Scrabble, same as Z, and you can't spell QuiZ without either! Enjoy.
A fun side-quest I played when attempting this set for the first time: Before the quiz starts, ask each player to predict one answer that will appear in the set. Something that starts with the letter Q. Keep a tally and see who gets their prediction right. Good luck!
7. Not Only TV Trivia by Sandeep Hari
In his own words:
NOTT MIMIR: A set where each quad is based on a TV show but covers various topics including food, movies, science, music, geography, literature etc. Having watched the shows obviously helps but it is not really necessary to attempt the set. Contains many videos as part of questions and answers.
I got a chance to play this set yesterday and I can confirm it has been made with a LOT of love, meaning the questions are longish and the videos are hilarious. This is a fun one to play with friends, especially those who don't quiz often, and that's one of the highest compliments I can give a quiz.
Made using the B612 Template.

You can still sign up for the B612 Quiz League. We’re 5 weeks into our 5th Season, but this is a non-competitive quiz league so it really doesn’t matter when you join. Signing up would also mean you can play these friendlies with us!
