Draws for the final weeks are now up and you can start scheduling your quizzes.

Remember, these are tier finals so use the tiebreakers to get a result for each game. Or, in the spirit of Magnus Carlsen and Ian Nepo, you can let us know if you’d prefer to simply share the first place and we’ll declare multiple people winners of the tier.

There are only 26 games to be held this week, less than a third of the usual count. Game Week will run from Friday 5pm IST 3rd January to Thursday 11.59pm IST 9th January.

Note on Finalists: For the most part, people who won their semifinal quizzes have made it through to the finals.¹ There were some semifinal quizzes that didn’t actually happen, so to fill in those seats we’ve selected the leading player from one of the two remaining semifinals of the tier. Dibyesh of game 557 was a beneficiary of this. In one case, tier 23, TWO of the semifinals didn’t happen. So for that take, the entire group from the semifinal that did occur, have made it through to the finals for a rematch. Beneficiaries here were Kuriakose George and Aditya Pujari.

1. We aren’t doing the final week non-competitive games that we’ve done in previous seasons. People who have been ‘eliminated’ are always a pain to schedule a game with the following week, and there are too many missed quizzes. So only finals this time, and we’ll release the set as a friendly as soon as the last quiz is done.
